Privacy policy

Last Updated: August 22, 2025

Numanz (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit our website www.numanz.in (the “Site”) or engage with us through other channels. By using our Site or services, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

We may collect and process different types of information from you for various operational, legal, or marketing purposes:

Personal Information:

When you make a purchase or create an account, we collect personal details such as your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, and billing details (e.g., payment method information). This information is necessary to process transactions and deliver. We might also collect your contact details when you subscribe to our newsletter or promotions.

Order & Transaction Data:

Information about the products you purchase, your order history, and any preferences (for example, if you subscribe to a product or opt-in for a recurring delivery) is recorded. This helps us manage your orders, handle returns/refunds, and improve our product offerings based on purchase trends.

Usage Data:

We automatically collect certain data when you interact with our Site. This includes your IP address, browser type and version, device identifiers, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and other diagnostic data. We obtain this through cookies and similar tracking technologies (explained below) and use it to analyse how our site is used and to enhance your browsing experience.

Communication Data:

If you contact us via email, chat, social media (such as Instagram DM to @numanz.care), or phone, we will collect the information you provide during the correspondence. This may include your name, email, phone number, and the content of your inquiry/feedback. We keep these communications to address your queries and improve our support services.

Sensitive Personal Data:

Numanz does not actively collect any sensitive personal data, such as passwords, financial account details, or government identification numbers, through our website. Payment transactions are handled by secure third-party payment gateways (so we do not see your card numbers or bank details, aside from a transaction ID). We also do not collect data like your racial or ethnic origin, health information, or biometric data. Any health or skin information you voluntarily share (for example, if you tell us about a skin condition to get product advice) is kept confidential and only used to assist you with your query.

How We Collect Information

We collect personal information through several channels:

Directly from You:

Most data – such as personal and order information – is provided directly by you when you take actions like placing an order, registering an account, subscribing to emails, or contacting us. Filling out forms on our Site (e.g., entering your email to sign up for a newsletter or providing shipping details at checkout) will transmit that data to us.

Through Automated Technologies:

As you navigate our Site, we use cookies, pixels, and log files to automatically collect Usage Data (see “Cookies and Tracking Technologies” below for more details). For instance, we might use Google Analytics or similar tools that track your site interactions and provide insights into site traffic and usage patterns.

From Third-Party Services:

We may receive some information indirectly from third parties that integrate with our Site. For example:

Payment Processors:

When you complete a purchase, our payment gateway (e.g., Razorpay) provides us with confirmation of your payment and basic info like the payment method used (though not your full card details).

Logistics Partners:

Our shipping provider (e.g., Shiprocket) may give us updates using your order ID about delivery status, which we use to update you or for our order tracking page.

Analytics/Advertising Partners:

We use third-party analytics and advertising services (such as Google Tag Manager/Google Analytics, Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram), Microsoft Clarity, Google Ads, and Snapchat Ads). These services may collect information via cookies or tags on our Site to help us understand user behaviour and reach you with relevant ads on other platforms.

This collection is generally aggregated and not tied to you personally by Numanz – it’s used for statistical and ad targeting purposes.

How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information for the following purposes:

Order Fulfilment & Service Delivery:

Primarily, we use your personal and order information to process and ship your orders, arrange returns or replacements as per our policies, and to provide any services you sign up for (like a subscription). For example, our team uses your address and phone number to ship your package, and our payment processor uses your payment info to complete the transaction

Communication:

We will use your contact information to communicate with you, keeping you informed about your orders (order confirmations, shipping notifications, etc.), responding to your inquiries or support requests, and sending important service-related notices (such as changes to our terms or policies). If you provide feedback or raise an issue, we may contact you to follow up and ensure it’s resolved.

Marketing & Promotions:

With your consent (where required), we may use your email or phone number to send you our newsletters, promotional offers, surveys, or information about new product launches and special deals. You can opt out of marketing emails or messages at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in emails or contacting us. We also use data from cookies and pixels to show you relevant advertisements on other platforms - for instance, if you viewed a product on our site, you might see an ad for it on Facebook or Google. This is done through retargeting services (via Meta, Google Ads, Snapchat, etc.), and although those platforms handle the ad placement, we utilise the data to ensure our ads are shown to interested audiences.

Site Improvement and Analytics:

Usage Data and feedback help us understand how users interact with our Site and products. We analyse this data to improve our website interface, make navigation easier, and enhance our product offerings. For instance, if we notice many users drop off at a certain page, we investigate and try to improve that page. We may also test out new features or content (A/B testing) using aggregated user data to see what works best for our customers.

Personalization:

We may use your browsing and purchase history to personalise your experience. This could mean showing you products similar to those you’ve shown interest in, or tailoring content on the homepage to suit the general preferences of users like you. The goal is to make your shopping experience more relevant.

Security and Fraud Prevention:

Information (especially Usage Data like IP addresses and device info) is also used to protect our Site and you. We monitor for suspicious or fraudulent activity – for example, multiple failed payment attempts or strange login locations. This helps us detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or any illegal activities on our platform.

Legal Obligations:

In certain cases, we are legally required to use or retain information. For example, we maintain records of transactions for accounting and tax purposes. We may use and share information as necessary to comply with law enforcement requests, tax audits, or to exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We also adhere to India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and use your data in accordance with this law’s requirements.

We will not use your personal information for purposes other than those described above without informing you and obtaining consent if required.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We value your privacy and handle your information with care. We do not sell your personal information to third-party marketers. However, we do share certain data with trusted third parties in the following circumstances:

Service Providers & Partners:

We work with third-party companies to operate our business smoothly. For example, Payment Processors: As mentioned, companies like Razorpay process payments on our behalf. They receive your payment details to complete the transaction.

Courier and Logistics:

We share your name, address, and contact number with our delivery partners (e.g., via Shiprocket, which coordinates with couriers like Delhivery, Bluedart, etc.) so they can deliver your order.

Analytics and Advertising:

We use tools and partners for analytics (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity) and advertising (Google Ads, Meta/Facebook, Snapchat). These providers may receive information through our use of their technologies on our Site. For instance, Meta (Facebook) may receive data that someone from a certain device viewed a page or made a purchase, which allows us to measure ad effectiveness or build custom audiences for ads. These partners are bound by their own privacy policies and typically only provide us aggregated info (like “100 people clicked this ad and then visited your site”).

Email/SMS Services:

If we send emails, we might use an email service platform that will handle the distribution of our newsletters or order updates. They would have access to your email address strictly for sending our communications.

All these service providers are given only the information necessary for them to perform their function, and we contractually require them to protect it and use it only for that purpose.

Business Transfers:

If Numanz engages in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganisation, bankruptcy, or sale of company assets, your information may be transferred or shared as part of that transaction. If another company acquires us or our assets, that company will possess the personal information collected by us and will assume the rights and obligations regarding your information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Legal Compliance:

We may disclose your personal information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (for example, a court or a government agency). Specifically, if we receive a legal demand (such as a subpoena, court order, or regulatory requirement) that we believe we must comply with, we may release certain data. Additionally, we may share information when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others; investigate fraud; or respond to a government request. For instance, if law enforcement is investigating a fraudulent transaction and formally requests
information, we might provide the necessary data.

With Your Consent:

Other than the cases listed above, if for any reason we need to share your information with a third party in a way that is not covered by this policy, we will ask for your explicit consent. You have the right to say no, and even if you consent, you can ask us later to stop sharing.

Note: We do not sell or rent your personal information to third-party marketers. Also, we do not share your order details or contact information with other companies for their independent marketing or commercial uses without your consent.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our Site uses “cookies” and similar tracking technologies to provide a better user experience, faster navigation, and for marketing/analytics purposes.

What Are Cookies:

Cookies are small text files stored on your browser or device by websites you visit. They remember bits of information about your visit. For example, a cookie might remember what’s in your cart or that you’re logged in, so you don’t have to log in every time.

Types of Cookies We Use:

Essential Cookies:

These are necessary for the Site to function properly. For instance, they allow you to add items to your cart and checkout. Without these, basic e-commerce functionality would be impaired.

Analytics Cookies:

We use these to collect information about how visitors use our Site. For example, Google Analytics cookies tell us which pages are popular, how long people stay, and if they encounter errors. This data is aggregated and helps us improve the website’s structure and content.

Advertising Cookies:

These cookies are used by third-party advertising platforms (like Google Ads and Facebook) to show you personalised ads. They record that you visited our site and what pages/products you looked at, and this information can be used to serve ads to you on other sites. For instance, if you browsed our moisturiser product, you might later see an ad for that moisturiser on Facebook.

Preference Cookies:

These remember your preferences on our site (like language or region selection if applicable) to provide a more personalised experience.

Managing Cookies:

Upon your first visit to our site, you may see a cookies consent banner. You can choose to allow or deny certain cookies. Moreover, most web browsers provide options to refuse some or all cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. Please note that if you disable cookies via your browser, some parts of our Site might not function correctly (for example, your cart might not remember items).

Other Tracking Technologies:

Besides cookies, we might use web beacons or pixel tags in emails to know if you opened a newsletter or clicked a link – this helps us gauge the effectiveness of our communications. These are tiny transparent images or code snippets that record a simple event (like email opened) along with basic info like timestamp and IP address.

By using our site with cookies enabled in your browser, you consent to our use of cookies as described in this policy. You can always adjust your browser settings or use tools to opt out of advertising cookies (such as Google’s Ads Settings, or industry opt-out sites like aboutads.info for behavioural advertising).

Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it, including for satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements.

Order and Account Data:

Information related to your orders and account (name, contact, order history) will be kept as long as you have an account with us, and even after, as required by law. For example, we might keep records of transactions for 7-10 years to comply with tax and financial laws.

If you delete your account or request data deletion, we will remove personal identifiers from the data, but may keep basic order information without personal details for legal compliance.

Marketing Data:

If you have subscribed to our newsletter or consented to receive marketing, we will retain your contact info for marketing until you opt out. Once you unsubscribe, we will stop sending you emails, but may keep your contact info on a suppression list to ensure we respect your opt-out.

Analytics Data:

This is usually aggregated and not tied to individual users. We might keep aggregated usage statistics indefinitely to help us improve the site, but this data cannot typically be linked back to an individual. Raw analytics logs at an individual level are usually rotated or deleted within a shorter timeframe (e.g., 14 months in Google Analytics by default) unless used for security analysis.

Communications:

If you contacted us via email or support channels, we may retain those communications for a few years, especially if they led to a transaction or are needed for future reference (for example, a record of a customer service resolution).

Legal Requirements:

We might need to keep some data for longer if required by law. For instance, under certain regulations, invoices and payments must be preserved for a certain number of years. Also, if we are handling a dispute or the enforcement of our terms, we would retain relevant information until the issue is resolved.

When we have no ongoing legitimate need or obligation to process your personal information, we will either delete it or anonymise it (so it can no longer be associated with you). If that’s not immediately possible (for example, because your data is stored in backup archives), we will securely store the data and isolate it from further use until deletion is possible.

Data Security

We implement a variety of security measures to protect your personal information:

Secure Transmission:

Our website is secured using SSL/TLS encryption (look for the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar when you visit our site). This means any data you enter (like passwords or payment info) is encrypted during transmission and cannot be easily intercepted.

Restricted Access:

Internally, access to personal data is limited on a need-to-know basis. Only authorised personnel (such as customer service representatives, order fulfilment staff, or IT personnel) who require access to perform their duties are allowed to see your personal information, and they are bound by confidentiality.

Secure Storage:

We store information on secure servers. Passwords are stored in hashed form (not plain text), and sensitive financial info is usually handled by our payment providers (we do not store your credit card numbers on our systems).

Monitoring and Testing:

We regularly update our systems and apply security patches to protect against vulnerabilities. We also monitor our network for potential intrusions or attacks. In addition, our e-commerce platform and hosting providers often include security features and conduct routine security audits.

Third-Party Standards:

Where we use third-party service providers (payment gateways, etc.), we ensure that they follow industry security standards. For example, payment processors are required to be PCI-DSS compliant, which is a security standard for handling credit card data.

Despite all these measures, it’s important to note that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. However, we work hard to protect your information and have incident response plans in case of any data breach. If we discover a security breach that compromises your personal data, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.

You also play a role in security: Please choose a strong, unique password for your Numanz account and do not share it. If you suspect any unauthorised access to your account or any suspicious activity, please contact us immediately.

Your Rights and Choices

We respect your rights regarding your personal data. Under applicable data protection laws (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, in India), you have the following rights:

Right to Access:

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. We will provide you with a summary of the data and details on how it’s being used upon verification of your identity (to protect your privacy).

Right to Correction:

If any of your information is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to ask us to correct it. For example, if you change your phone number or notice your name is misspelt in our records, you can request an update. Most basic info can also be edited by you directly by logging into your account on our website.

Right to Data Deletion:

You can request that we delete your personal data. When you ask for deletion, we will remove or anonymise data that we are not legally obliged to keep. Note that we might retain certain transaction records required for legal/tax purposes (as mentioned under Data Retention). Also, if you request deletion, it may also involve closing your account with us. See the “User Data Deletion” section below for details on how to request this.

Right to Withdraw Consent:

If we are processing your personal data based on your consent (for example, for marketing emails), you can withdraw that consent at any time. The easiest way is to unsubscribe from the newsletter (via the link at the bottom of any marketing email) or by contacting us to opt out.

Right to Object or Restrict Processing:

In certain situations, you may object to or ask us to limit our processing of your data. For instance, you can request to stop receiving marketing, or object to automated decision-making if we have any (note: we do not use your data for automated decisions that have legal or significant effects on you, such as credit scoring). If you believe our use of your data is not necessary or is causing you harm, let us know and we will review and honour your request if applicable.

Right to Data Portability:

This is more applicable in some jurisdictions or contexts, but if requested, we can provide your personal data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format (for example, a CSV file) so that you can transfer it to another service if needed. This mostly covers the data you provided to us.

To exercise any of these rights, you can contact us at hello@numanz.in with your specific request. For security, we may need to verify your identity (for example, through your email or by asking for certain order info) before fulfilling the request. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by law (typically, we aim for within 30 days). Please note that some requests might be refused if they conflict with legal obligations – if so, we will explain the reason to you.

Also, if you have an account, you can log in and directly access or update certain info (like editing your profile, addresses, etc.) in the “My Account” section of our site.

Children’s Privacy

Our website and products are not directed to children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 years of age 43. If you are under 18, please do not use or provide any information on this Site without the involvement of a parent or guardian.

If we discover that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a minor without proper consent, we will take immediate steps to delete that information. For example, if a 16-year-old signs up with a fake age and we later learn about it, we will remove their data from our records.

Parents or guardians: If you believe that your child under 18 may have provided us personal information, please contact us promptly at hello@numanz.in. We will investigate and, if applicable, remove the data and cease any related processing.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make changes, we will do the following:

Posting the Updated Policy:

The revised Privacy Policy will be posted on this page under “Privacy Policy” with a new “Last Updated” date at the top.

Notification:

If the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice. This may include an email notification to our registered users or a banner/alert on our website’s homepage. For example, if we were to start collecting new types of personal data or use existing data for new purposes not covered by this current policy, we would inform you in advance and request consent if required.

Reviewing Changes:

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. Your continued use of the Site after any changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with any updates to the policy, you should stop using our services and may request deletion of your data.
